The Big Loop
From wuchang there are many ways forward. Infact it acts a a bit of a transport hub for China, being on the natural crossroads of all the major north-south (Beijing-Kowloon/Canton) trade routes and the historical east-west flow of the Yangtse river. Trains leave for almost all points in China. Lhasa, Nanning, Shanghai and Haerbin.
The obvious and arguable the quickest method to get to London is to go straight for Beijing and the Trans-Siberian route. I think I found a more interesting trip.
- Beijing,
- Harebin (north China),
- Khabarovsk (Russia),
- Vanino,
- Shakalin Island,
- Japan,
- South Korea, Possibly North Korea?,
- Shanghai (China),
- Xi’an and onward
Basically a big loop. It takes in some interesting and remote areas that you would otherwise have no reason to visit.
